Lenski is by the elite Danish Stallion Leandro, a son of the legendary Landgraf I whose offsping won over $NZ 8million and included Aachen Grand Prix winner Freestyle; Dutch National Champion and 1994 World Cup winner Libero and other graded stallions such as Larcos; Lanciano and Landlord. Landgraf I was by Ladykiller, the Holstein breed's most important Thoroughbred sire who produced 35 graded sons and 195 approved daughters. Lyra, Lenski's dam, is a rare example of a mare with a stunning performance record of her own. She competed regularly for Germany at Nations Cup meetings and Grand Prix, and won the Volvo World Cup Series in 1994, as well as winning the Dublin and Frankfurt Puissances and placing 4th in the Hickstead Derby in 1992.

Lenski was licensed at the AES grading in 2002, where he was one of only two stallions to be graded out of a large group forward. In 2003 Lenski won the Rhinegold 6 year old Potential Dressage Horse Championship at Hickstead with a massive 81.8, and also the Shearwater 6 year old Potential Dressage Horse Championship at the British Dressage Breeding Championships. He won his Southern Regional Qualifier, and was 2nd at the National Championships. Short-listed for the World Class Potential Plan 2004 Lenski's own dressage competition record, his good temperament and tractability and his outstanding showjumping bloodlines make him an ideal dual purpose stallion for the modern sportshorse breeder. This year he won the Southern Regional Championships at Medium Open level, won at the Eastern Regionals the Advanced Medium and came 2nd in the PSG. He is also now Fully Approved by the AES.
